AXO was founded by three industry-leading trainers — Joshua, Matt, and Ryan — who bring decades of international experience from London, Hong Kong, the USA, and New Zealand. Each built their careers coaching at the highest level, from elite athletes to business leaders and members of the British royal family.
They saw a gap in the market — between expensive, exclusive 1:1 training and overcrowded, generic group classes. AXO was created to bridge that gap. By limiting the number of clients in each group session, the team combines the personalisation of private coaching with the energy and motivation of training alongside others, while still offering exclusive 1:1 training for those who prefer a fully private coaching experience.
Together, Joshua, Matt, and Ryan lead a studio built on athleticism, execution, and optimisation (AXO) — delivering training that is results-driven and accessible.

Co-Founder
Formerly founder of Body Form, Matt brings a performance-driven, strength and conditioning ethos grounded in movement science. His coaching spans rehabilitation through to small-group performance training, always with an uncompromising focus on form, function, and long-term results.
An active CrossFit and HYROX competitor, Matt continues to push his own limits while guiding clients to do the same. By blending real-world athletic experience with the science of movement, he ensures every client achieves effective, sustainable progress.

Co-Founder
Josh returned home to New Zealand in 2020 to establish Solo Personal Training, after 12 years as one of London’s leading personal trainers. His clientele ranged from bankers and business leaders to members of the Royal Family and London’s elite. Alongside his private work, he served as Head Trainer for TAG Heuer’s London Marathon Team and contributed as a fitness writer for GQ Magazine.
A former professional basketball player, Josh’s career was cut short by multiple knee surgeries. Applying his own rehab and training philosophy, he rebuilt his strength, resilience, and performance — becoming fitter and stronger now than in his days on the court. Today, he competes in high-level CrossFit, HYROX, and other fitness events, proving first-hand that smart, consistent training can overcome even the toughest setbacks.

Richenda is a qualified personal trainer and massage therapist with over a decade of experience helping clients improve their strength, mobility, and overall wellbeing. Known for her personalised, down-to-earth approach, Richenda works with all fitness levels — from beginners to seasoned athletes — offering supportive coaching and lasting results.

With over 15 years in the fitness industry, Ryan brings extensive international experience from working in some of the world’s most fast-paced and demanding cities, including Hong Kong and London.
A lifelong athlete, Ryan spent eight years playing and coaching rugby, which shaped his passion for sports performance and movement. Energetic and knowledgeable, he combines real-world athletic insight with up-to-date training principles — ensuring every client is supported, challenged, and able to exceed their goals.
